The insurance company knows how to pay you less.
We know how to make them pay.
If you’ve been hurt in New York, you’re about to face an insurer whose whole business is paying you less. Our firm was built by an attorney who spent years on their side of the table — so we know their playbook, and we use it to get you what your case is worth.
We learned the insurance playbook by writing it.
Before this firm represented injured people, its founding attorney defended the insurance companies and corporations now sitting across from your claim — Lloyd’s of London, Ford Motor Credit, Bank of America. That experience is the advantage you get from the first phone call.
“I know the buttons to push to get them to settle. I know exactly what they need to write that check.” Adam L. Shapiro · Founding Attorney
We know how they value your claim
Insurers use a formula to decide what you're worth. Our founder helped build cases on their side for years — we know the number they're hiding, and how to move it.
We know where they settle
Every carrier has a point where fighting costs more than paying. We prepare each case to reach that point fast.
You work with a founding attorney
Not an intake desk. The attorney whose name is on the door is the one who reviews your case.

No script, no jargon — just clear answers to the questions injured New Yorkers actually ask. Tap a video to watch, then pick up the phone.
The same thing, again and again: they cared, and they called back.
“They treated me like their only client — I never once felt like a case number.”
“Every call was returned, every question answered in plain English. A weight off my shoulders.”
“A perfect blend of grit and integrity. They fought hard and never cut a corner.”
“They knew exactly what the insurance company would do before it happened.”
“Focused on the best outcome, not the fastest settlement. Honest from day one.”
“Fifteen years and three cases later, my whole family uses this firm. That says it all.”
Adam’s story, in his own words.
From criminal defense in Florida to fighting for injury victims in New York — Adam shares his “leap of faith” to the plaintiff’s side, the cases that mattered most, and why treating every client like family is the key to lasting success.
If negligence caused your injury, chances are we handle it.
And if we don’t take your case, we’ll tell you honestly and point you in the right direction.

Answers before you call.
Still unsure? One phone call is enough to know where you stand.
What does it cost to hire the firm? +
Nothing up front. We work on contingency — you don't pay a fee unless we win your case. Your first call to review what happened costs you nothing.
How do I know if I have a case? +
The fastest way is to call and tell us what happened. If we don't think you have a case, we'll tell you honestly. We take the cases we believe we can win.
How long do I have to file a claim in New York? +
It depends on the type of case. Many personal injury claims allow up to three years, but claims against the City of New York or the MTA can require a Notice of Claim within just 90 days. Waiting can cost you the case — call as soon as you can.
What is my case worth? +
It depends on your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Because our founder spent years on the insurance side, we know how carriers value a claim — and how to push for the full amount, not the first lowball offer.
Will I have to go to court? +
Most cases settle. But we prepare every case as if it will go to trial, which is exactly why insurers take our clients seriously.
The insurance company already called me — what should I do? +
Don't give a recorded statement or accept any offer before you speak with an attorney. Call us first. What you say early can be used to reduce what you're paid.
Do you speak Spanish? +
Yes. Se habla español — our office serves clients in English and Spanish.
